Biography
Dr. Nestor Tzimpoulas is a recognized Specialist Member of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) and a member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), with exclusive specialization in Endodontics and the Management of Dental Traumatic Injuries.
He graduated from the School of Dentistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) in 2009.
In 2013, he was admitted to the three-year postgraduate specialization program in Endodontics at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, one of Europe's leading academic centers for Endodontics, which he successfully completed in 2016.
From 2016 to 2019, he worked as an Endodontist at a specialized Endodontic Center in The Hague, the Netherlands. Since 2019, he has been practicing in Athens, where he is the founder and Clinical Director of ROOTS, a specialized Endodontic and Dental Trauma Center located in the heart of the city.
He teaches in scientific and educational seminars in Endodontics in Greece and abroad, presenting the most modern and specialized techniques in endodontic treatment, contemporary protocols for root canal disinfection and obturation, endodontic retreatment, microsurgery, vital pulp therapies, management of complications and complex cases, as well as the application of bioceramic materials in Endodontics.
Dr. Tzimpoulas is Professor and Scientific Director of the Master of Science (MSc) in Dental Traumatology and Autotransplantation at the University of Siena, Italy. He also serves as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Siena, where he teaches and delivers scientific seminars and lectures in Endodontics.
In recent years, he has devoted himself extensively to the management of dental traumatic injuries and is considered one of the leading clinicians in this field, both in Greece and internationally. He is the first Greek dentist to be awarded the Fellowship of the International Association for Dental Traumatology (IADT). He has also authored the official Greek translation of the IADT Dental Trauma Guidelines and the international first-aid application ToothSOS.
He is also the founder of DentalTrauma.gr, an educational platform dedicated to dental trauma.
He has participated in research studies published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and has authored the chapter on post-traumatic root resorption in the book Traumatic Dental Injuries – Current Emergency Interventions and Treatment Approaches.
Dr. Tzimpoulas lectures and conducts hands-on clinical courses internationally at universities, scientific societies, and international conferences, with a particular focus on the contemporary management of dental traumatic injuries and biologically driven endodontic therapies.
In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Society of Endodontists (HSE), the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Society of Sports Dentistry (HSSD), and is also a member of several committees of the International Association for Dental Traumatology (IADT).
He is also a member of the Dutch Society of Endodontology (NVvE) and the Dental Association of Attica.
Biography
Dr. Anastasios Retsas graduated from the School of Dentistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2012. Until 2015, he remained as a Clinical Instructor in the Preclinical Endodontics Laboratory at the School of Dentistry, while simultaneously practicing as a general dentist with a special interest in Endodontics. Later, between 2015 and 2018, he attended and successfully completed the three-year postgraduate specialization program in Endodontics at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
For the following eight years, he worked as an Endodontist at a specialized referral clinic exclusively dedicated to Endodontics in The Hague, the Netherlands. At the same time, he served as a Clinical Instructor at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) and continues to be actively involved in dental research.
Currently, following a series of research publications, he is a PhD candidate in the Department of Endodontics at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) and a regular lecturer in the university’s continuing education programs in Endodontics.
In addition, he is a recognized member of the Dutch Society of Endodontology (NVvE), the Hellenic Endodontic Society, the Hellenic Society of Endodontists (HSE), and a Specialist Member of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE).
